Dario urops
Origin: Western Ghats, India
Dario urops, the Drape Fin Barb, is a rarely available micro perch from the Western Ghats of India. Males display spectacular elongated, draping dorsal, anal and caudal fin rays in vivid orange-red. Even smaller than D. dario at 1.5–2 cm, it is one of the smallest fish that can be kept in the hobby. Sold as a pair.
Requires pristine water quality and heavy planting. At least 20 L for a colony. Feed exclusively live or frozen micro foods: micro worms, baby brine shrimp. May refuse all dry foods — train slowly with frozen cyclops. Males intensely territorial in small spaces; provide visual breaks. Soft, slightly acidic water.
