Centropyge debelius
Origin: Christmas Island, Indian Ocean
The Debelius Angelfish is a rare and exquisite dwarf angel found only in the deep waters around Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. Its vivid blue body contrasted with an orange-yellow face and fins makes it one of the most visually striking Centropyge species available. Its deep-water origin means it must be carefully acclimated to aquarium conditions and prefers dimmer, subdued lighting.
Provide a well-established reef system with ample live rock and cave structures. Keep lighting at moderate intensity — this species originates from deeper water and can be stressed by intense lighting. Feed a varied omnivore diet including algae-based foods, mysis, and sponge-formula angel preparations twice daily. May nip at soft corals; monitor in reef systems.
