Centropyge narcosis
Origin: Marshall Islands, Central Pacific
Centropyge narcosis, aptly named after the narcosis experienced by the deep-diving collectors who risk their lives to collect it, inhabits depths exceeding 60 meters around the Marshall Islands. Its rich golden-orange body with brilliant blue fin trim is breathtaking. Only collected by rebreather divers or submersibles, making it among the rarest and most expensive dwarf angelfish available.
Requires a very well-established reef system with pristine water quality. Provide moderate, dimmer lighting to simulate the deep-water habitat it originates from. Feed a varied diet of algae-based foods, mysis, and sponge preparations. Extremely sensitive to poor water quality; maintain the highest standards of reef chemistry. Not for beginner hobbyists.
