Pseudochromis diadema
Origin: Western Pacific
The Diadem Dottyback is a striking bicolor species with a vivid yellow front half and deep purple-magenta rear half, creating one of the most recognizable color patterns among small reef fish. Native to the Western Pacific, it is a hardy and adaptable dottyback frequently captive-bred, reducing pressure on wild populations. Bold and territorial, it will defend a small territory among rockwork.
Provide a well-structured reef with rockwork caves. Avoid housing with other dottybacks in smaller tanks. Feed mysis, brine shrimp, and quality marine pellets once or twice daily. Generally compatible with corals and larger tank mates. Best kept as the sole dottyback in reef systems under 200 L.
