Julidochromis dickfeldi

Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
Julidochromis dickfeldi is native to the southern Zambian coast of Lake Tanganyika and is the most slender and smallest Julie species. Its striking pattern of brown body with bright blue-white horizontal stripes and electric-blue fin edges makes it a true gem. Like all Julies, it pairs for life and spawns in rocky crevices.
Water: 24-27°C, pH 7.8-9.0, hard alkaline water. Tank: 80L for a pair; caves and crevices created with flat stones or slate. Feeding: Quality cichlid micro-pellet or flake; occasional frozen cyclops or daphnia. Behaviour: Bonded pairs are devoted parents; will guard fry vigorously against intruders. Compatibility: Small Neolamprologus species, Lamprologus brevis, or dwarf shell dwellers.
