Pseudanthias dispar
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Dispar Anthias displays vibrant orange dorsal fins contrasting with a rosy-pink body, making it one of the more colorful anthias species available. Males develop a distinctive elongated dorsal spine during dominance displays. Relatively hardy compared to other anthias, it does best in groups with regular feedings of zooplankton-based foods.
Keep in groups of 1 male and 3–5 females for optimal social structure and reduced aggression. Feed 2–3 times daily with small meaty zooplankton foods including frozen mysis, copepods, and enriched brine shrimp — anthias have high metabolic demands and must be fed frequently. Provide open water swimming space in a large established reef system.
