Nassarius distortus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Nassarius distortus is a slightly larger nassarius species identifiable by its asymmetrical, twisted shell profile. It is an enthusiastic scavenger and sand-sifter that rapidly emerges from the substrate to consume detritus and leftover meaty foods when they detect feeding activity. Completely reef-safe and an excellent addition to any reef cleanup crew.
Introduce in groups of 3–10 per aquarium. No targeted feeding required — they emerge instinctively when food enters the water column. Maintain adequate calcium and alkalinity for healthy shell development. Compatible with all corals and peaceful reef inhabitants. Avoid housing with pufferfish, triggers, or other snail predators.
