Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Origin: Captive-bred (East Asian origin — China, Japan, Korea)
The Golden Dojo Loach is an albino-like variant of the Weather Loach displaying a warm golden-yellow body with pink eyes. It is equally hardy and personable as the standard form, tolerating a wide range of temperatures from cool to tropical. Famous for becoming more active before atmospheric pressure changes (hence 'Weather Loach'). A delightful bottom-dweller for unheated or temperate community tanks.
Very adaptable — tolerates 10–25°C without heating. Provide soft substrate for burrowing. Feed sinking pellets, frozen bloodworms, and vegetables. Hardy and disease-resistant. Keeps the substrate turned over by burrowing. Peaceful with all fish. A long-lived and characterful species that becomes quite tame over time.
