Coris dorsomacula
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Dorsalspot Coris is a rarely seen wrasse from the Indo-Pacific, identifiable by a prominent dark spot at the base of its dorsal fin. Juveniles are particularly striking with white bodies decorated with orange-edged black spots. Like all Coris wrasses, it requires a deep sand bed for sleeping and ample swimming room in a large aquarium.
Provide a sand bed of at least 10 cm depth for burrowing and sleeping. Requires a large FOWLR or semi-reef aquarium with plenty of open swimming space. Feed a varied carnivore diet of krill, chopped seafood, and marine pellets daily. Will consume small invertebrates and crustaceans — not suitable for reef aquariums with a cleanup crew.
