Cirrhilabrus punctatus
Origin: Australia, SW Pacific
The Dotted Fairy Wrasse is a beautiful species from Australia and the southwestern Pacific, featuring a red to pink body covered in bright pink or white spots and dots. Males develop elongated caudal filaments and intensify dramatically in color during their spectacular flashing courtship displays. A relatively hardy fairy wrasse that adapts well to aquarium conditions.
Keep one male with 2–3 females to encourage regular flashing displays. Provide a covered aquarium — fairy wrasses are strong jumpers. Feed meaty foods including mysis, copepods, and quality marine pellets twice daily. Provide a well-established reef with dense rockwork. Generally peaceful with dissimilar reef inhabitants.
