Rasbora dusonensis
Also known as: Duson Rasbora, Claret Rasbora
Origin: Borneo
Rasbora dusonensis is a medium-sized, modestly coloured rasbora distributed through the river systems of Borneo. Its silver-bronze body and faint dark lateral stripe are typical of many Borneo blackwater rasboras, but it is a peaceful, robust species that adapts reasonably well to aquarium conditions. It makes a good component of a Bornean blackwater biotope alongside other species from the same region.
Water: 22–28 °C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft to moderately acidic (GH 2–12). Tank: 80 L minimum; open water with planted margins, tannins optional. Feeding: Omnivore — flakes, pellets, live or frozen small invertebrates. Behaviour: Peaceful active schooler; keep 8+ for natural group behaviour. Compatibility: Peaceful with similarly sized community fish; ideal for Borneo biotopes.
