Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki
Origin: Thailand
Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki, the Dwarf Chain Loach, is one of the smallest botiid loaches, reaching only 5–6 cm. Endemic to certain rivers in Thailand, it features a distinctive chainmail-like pattern of dark reticulations on a pale cream body. Unlike many loaches it is active during the day and loves to perch mid-water in groups. Perfect for larger planted tanks or species-only displays from 80 L. Considered endangered in the wild; most available fish are captive-bred.
Keep in groups of 6+. Soft, slightly acidic water preferred. Provide fine sand substrate and dense planting. Feed mini sinking pellets, frozen daphnia, and micro-worm. Avoid sharp gravel. Peaceful with small nano fish.
