Cambarellus patzcuarensis
Origin: Mexico / captive-bred
The Dwarf Orange Crayfish (Cambarellus patzcuarensis 'Orange') is a miniature crayfish with vivid orange coloration, making it one of the most popular nano crayfish in the hobby. Unlike larger species, it is relatively safe with small fish and moderately tolerant with shrimp due to its small size and less aggressive nature. Hardy, breeds readily in captivity, and does not significantly damage aquarium plants.
Provide caves and shelter for security. Compatible with most community fish but may occasionally catch slow-moving or sleeping fish — monitor closely. Not recommended with large shrimp colonies as occasional predation may occur. Feed with varied omnivore diet: sinking pellets, blanched spinach, zucchini, and occasional protein. Keep a secure lid — they will climb any surface.
