Channa andrao
Origin: Assam, India (Brahmaputra River drainage)
Channa andrao is a stunningly beautiful dwarf snakehead from the Brahmaputra River drainage in northeastern India, displaying a striking pattern of sky-blue, orange, and black irregular banding. At under 15cm it is far more manageable than most snakehead species. Best kept as a pair or alone in a species tank with a tight-fitting lid to prevent escape.
Requires cool water (15–24°C) — do not house with tropical warm-water fish. Provide a heavily planted tank with caves and tight-fitting lid — excellent escape artists. Feed live and frozen meaty foods: earthworms, prawns, bloodworms. Keep as a single fish or bonded pair. Not suitable for community tanks — will eat smaller fish.
