Centropyge eibli
Origin: Eastern Indian Ocean (Cocos-Keeling, Christmas Island, Java Sea)
Eibli's Angelfish (Centropyge eibli) is an elegant dwarf angelfish native to the Eastern Indian Ocean, recognized by its alternating orange and pale white-gray vertical stripes and the distinctive black-edged yellow tail. It is moderately hardy by dwarf angel standards and does well in established reef or FOWLR systems with plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter. Like most Centropyge species, it may nip at large-polyp stony corals and tridacnid clams, so caution is advised in full reef setups. Feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, frozen mysis, and angel-specific formulas containing sponge material to maintain vibrant coloration and good health.
Provide an established aquarium of at least 150 liters with abundant live rock and numerous hiding spots. Offer a varied diet including spirulina, frozen mysis shrimp, marine flake, and sponge-enriched angelfish pellets. Can be semi-aggressive toward other dwarf angels; keep only one per tank unless the system is large enough to establish distinct territories. May pick at corals in a full reef — monitor closely. Maintain excellent water quality with salinity 1.020–1.025 SG.
