About
The Electric Blue Ram is a captive-bred colour morph of Mikrogeophagus ramirezi in which the normal patterning has been replaced by a uniform, intense electric blue across the entire body. While spectacularly beautiful, this morph tends to be slightly more delicate than the German Blue Ram and requires stable, warm, soft water to maintain health and colour.
Care Guide
Water: 26-30°C, pH 5.5-7.0, soft (GH 2-6); stability critical; avoid temperature fluctuations. Tank: 60L minimum, sand substrate, caves, dense planting; good oxygenation. Feeding: omnivore — high-quality varied diet; live/frozen Artemia, bloodworm; colour-enhancing pellets. Behaviour: forms monogamous pairs; territorial during breeding; generally peaceful otherwise. Compatibility: peaceful community with small tetras; avoid aggressive or boisterous tankmates.
