Rasbora elegans is a sizeable and handsome cyprinid widespread across the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. Its broad silver-gold body is marked by a large, irregular dark blotch in the mid-body region and a smaller spot near the caudal peduncle. Despite growing quite large, it remains peaceful toward tankmates of comparable size. It is an undemanding species that accepts most foods and a wide range of water parameters.

Feeding: Omnivore — pellets, sticks, live or frozen invertebrates, vegetable matter. Behaviour: Peaceful active schooler; keep 6+ for confidence. Compatibility: Good with medium to large peaceful fish; will eat very small tankmates.
