Microrasbora erythromicron
Also known as: Emerald Dwarf Rasbora, Dwarf Rasbora
Origin: Inle Lake region, Myanmar
Microrasbora erythromicron was described from shallow, heavily vegetated lake margins in Inle Lake and surrounding habitats in Myanmar. Males are brilliantly coloured with teal-green barring on the flanks and brilliant red-orange fins, while females are silvery with a dark spot at the caudal base. It prefers harder, more alkaline water than most nano fish — a reflection of its native Inle Lake conditions. Peaceful and ideal for species tanks.
Water: 20–26 °C, pH 7.0–8.0, moderately hard water preferred (GH 8–20). Tank: 30 L minimum; dense planting, open foreground, dark substrate. Feeding: Omnivore — micro pellets, baby brine shrimp, Cyclops, crushed flake. Behaviour: Peaceful but males spar; keep 10+ with more females than males. Compatibility: Ideal with other Inle Lake species; avoid nippy or boisterous tankmates.
