The Emerald Laser Cory (CW016) displays a brilliant green stripe running the full length of its body, shimmering under aquarium lighting. Like its Orange Laser cousin, it originates from soft, acidic waters of Peru. It requires similar conditions to thrive and is best appreciated in a dimly lit blackwater setup where its colouration is most vivid.
Care Guide
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.0, soft to very soft; blackwater conditions strongly preferred. Tank: 60L+, fine sand, dim lighting, tannins from driftwood or leaf litter recommended. Feeding: Sinking wafers, frozen bloodworm, daphnia, brine shrimp, and micro pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ recommended. Compatibility: Best with small, peaceful blackwater species; avoid hard-water tankmates.
