Trigonostigma espei
Origin: Thailand, Cambodia (Mekong basin)
Trigonostigma espei is the most slender of the lambchop rasboras, from the Mekong basin and surrounding regions of Thailand and Cambodia, featuring a narrow, elongated black wedge patch on a vivid orange body. Slightly more demanding than its close relative T. heteromorpha, preferring softer, slightly acidic water. A lively and attractive schooling species for planted community tanks.
Keep in schools of 8+. Provide soft, slightly acidic water with dense planting and dark substrate — enhances orange colouration. Feed micro-pellets, flake, daphnia, artemia. More sensitive to hard water than T. heteromorpha. A rewarding nano schooling fish for well-planted setups.
