Origin: Captive bred (Taiwan lineage)
Extreme Blue Bolt Shrimp represent the finest tier of Blue Bolt grading, characterised by saturated, deep electric-blue pigmentation across the head and upper body contrasting with crisp white lower coverage. This grade requires careful selective breeding from top Blue Bolt parentage and commands a premium price among serious Caridina collectors. Water chemistry must be precisely managed with buffering substrate and RO water to maintain stable soft acidic conditions.
Water: 20–24°C, pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 100–150, GH 4–6, KH 0–2; RO water with remineraliser. Tank: minimum 20 L, active substrate, Java moss, Riccardia for biofilm. Feeding: high-quality powdered shrimp food, biofilm, occasional spirulina. Behaviour: active grazers; peaceful species tank residents. Compatibility: shrimp-only; no fish; peaceful snails tolerated.
