Tetraodon lineatus
Origin: Nile / West Africa
Tetraodon lineatus — the Fahaka puffer — is one of the largest freshwater puffers at 35+ cm and is native to the Nile River basin and other West African rivers. It has a striking golden and brown striped pattern and is highly intelligent — it can recognize individual people and exhibits personality-driven behaviour. Despite its engaging nature it is extremely aggressive and must be kept alone. It can bite through hard materials with its powerful fused beak teeth.
Solo tank only (200+ L). WARNING: Powerful biter — use tongs for feeding. Feed: snails (main food to wear teeth), krill, cockles, clams. Intelligent and interactive.
