Corydoras atropersonatus
Origin: Ecuador, Peru (Tigre and Corrientes River drainages)
Corydoras atropersonatus, the Fairy Cory or Mosaic Cory, comes from the Tigre and Corrientes river drainages of Ecuador and Peru, displaying an attractive network of dark spots and blotches over a pale, slightly yellowish body. One of the smaller cory species that does best in soft, warm water with fine sand and leaf litter or low plants for cover. A gentle and undemanding community fish.
Provide fine sand substrate with leaf litter. Keep in groups of 6+. Feed sinking micro-wafers, frozen daphnia, and small meaty foods. Soft, warm, slightly acidic water preferred. A small species (4.5cm) — suitable for nano and medium planted tanks. Peaceful with all community fish. Slightly more demanding than C. aeneus.
