About

Feather Duster Worms (Sabellastarte spp.) are filter-feeding tube worms that extend an elaborate crown of feathery radioles to capture suspended particles. Instantly retract their crown when disturbed, then slowly re-extend. A fascinating and ornamental addition to a peaceful reef tank.

Care Guide

Reef-safe. Place the tube securely in substrate or rockwork crevice. Feed phytoplankton, reef roids, and rotifers several times a week. Strong flow can prevent radiole extension — provide calmer water areas. Will regenerate lost crowns after shedding. Avoid housing with nibblers like butterflyfishes.
