Origin: Africa (White Nile basin, Chad basin, West Africa)
Synodontis eupterus, the Featherfin Synodontis, is a popular and widely kept mochokid from the White Nile and Chad basins, best known for its spectacular high-crested dorsal fin with feather-like rays that become more pronounced with age. An adaptable and hardy species tolerating a broad range of water conditions. Makes an excellent centrepiece catfish for medium to large community aquariums.
Provide caves, driftwood, and subdued lighting for daytime refuge — nocturnal species. Feed quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, frozen meaty foods. Compatible with most medium-to-large peaceful fish. Hardy and adaptable to a wide range of conditions. Highly recommended as a centrepiece catfish for those wanting something dramatic and manageable.
