About
Female dragon scale bettas carry the same armour-like metallic scaling as their male counterparts, often in vivid red, copper, or bicolour combinations. They are slightly less commonly available than female standard bettas but are highly prized for their unique appearance. Eye monitoring for scale overgrowth is recommended as in all dragon scale fish.
Care Guide
Water: 26-30°C, pH 6.0-7.5, soft to medium hardness — monitor eyes regularly for scale tissue growth. Tank: minimum 20L; 80L+ for sorority groups with plenty of plant cover and hiding places. Feeding: carnivore — betta pellets, frozen bloodworm, daphnia; two feedings daily. Behaviour: females may show moderate aggression in sororities — introduce simultaneously. Compatibility: peaceful community tanks; a standout fish with minimal care demands.
