Dawkinsia filamentosa
Origin: Western Ghats, India
Dawkinsia filamentosa, the Filament Barb or Black-Spot Barb, is a large and uncommonly kept barb from the Western Ghats. Males develop a dramatic elongated filament from the dorsal fin. Its attractive silvery body with a distinct black lateral spot and red fin colouration make it a spectacular display fish for large community aquariums. Pack of 6.
Keep in schools of 5+ in at least 150 L. Prefer cooler, well-oxygenated water. Feed quality flake, pellets, and frozen bloodworm. Peaceful and suitable for large community tanks. Somewhat rare in the trade — an excellent choice for the barb enthusiast.
