Flame Dwarf Gourami

The Flame Dwarf Gourami is a striking captive-bred all-red colour morph of Colisa lalia, selectively bred to produce near-uniform fiery red colouration. It is one of the most popular Dwarf Gourami variants in the aquarium hobby. It requires stable, clean water conditions and is prone to stress-related illness if water quality deteriorates.

Water: temp 25–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to slightly hard; excellent filtration essential. Tank: minimum 60L; heavily planted with low flow and floating plant cover. Feeding: omnivore — quality flake, live and frozen foods including daphnia and brine shrimp. Behaviour: peaceful; males may posture at rivals; keep one male per tank. Compatibility: ideal with small peaceful fish; avoid boisterous or aggressive tankmates.
