Aphyosemion exigoideum

Origin: Gabon
Aphyosemion exigoideum is a small and slender killifish from the rainforest streams of Gabon. Males display a subtle but charming combination of blue-green colouration with faint red spotting, and the species is noted for being shy and retiring. Best kept in a calm, heavily planted species tank with very soft, acidic water and gentle filtration to replicate its forest stream habitat.
Water: 20–24 °C, pH 6.0–7.0, very soft and acidic. Tank: 30 L quiet species tank; dense planting; peat filtration beneficial; secure lid. Feeding: Micro live foods preferred; Artemia nauplii, Daphnia, micro worms. Behaviour: Shy and retiring; males mildly competitive; keep trios. Compatibility: Species tank only; too timid for most community setups.
