Pseudomugil furcatus

Origin: Papua New Guinea (eastern)
Pseudomugil furcatus is native to the rainforest streams of eastern Papua New Guinea, where it inhabits slow-moving, heavily vegetated water. Males develop a deeply forked yellow and black caudal fin and striking blue eyes. A peaceful, undemanding species well suited to nano and planted aquariums, and one of the most commonly available Pseudomugil in the hobby.
Water: 22–28°C, pH 6.5–8.0, soft to moderately hard water. Tank: 40 L+ planted nano tank; gentle filtration and dense vegetation. Feeding: Omnivore; fine flakes, micro-pellets, baby brine shrimp, and micro-worms. Behaviour: Active, peaceful nano schooling fish; best displayed in large groups. Compatibility: Excellent with other small peaceful nano species.
