Corydoras fowleri
Also known as: Fowler's Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras fowleri is one of the larger Corydoras species, reaching up to 8 cm, and bears a pattern of well-defined dark spots across its body. Found in Peruvian Amazon tributaries, it needs a spacious aquarium to move freely in a school. Its size and bold markings make it a visually impressive addition to a larger South American community.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; requires good water quality. Tank: 100L+, fine sand, moderate flow, plenty of open swimming space. Feeding: Larger sinking wafers, pellets, frozen bloodworm, earthworm, and brine shrimp. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Good with medium-sized peaceful South American species.
