Euphyllia divisa
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Euphyllia divisa, the Frogspawn Coral, produces clusters of grape-like tentacle tips that expand into rounded, frosted clusters resembling amphibian spawn — hence the evocative common name. It is the most peaceful of the common Euphyllia species, extending shorter sweeper tentacles than Hammer or Torch corals. It too will host clownfish and is slightly more tolerant of variable flow conditions than its Euphyllia relatives.
Medium PAR (100–200). Moderate to gentle flow — adapts to wider range of flow than other Euphyllia. Alk 8–10 dKH, Ca 400–450 ppm, temp 24–27°C. Allow 10–15 cm clearance from other corals. Target feed mysis or reef roids 1–2× weekly. More forgiving than Hammer and Torch corals — an excellent first Euphyllia for LPS beginners. Branching form allows fragging by sawing at branch junctions.
