Cyphotilapia frontosa

Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
The Burundi 6-bar morph of Cyphotilapia frontosa is the classic display Frontosa, featuring six wide black vertical bars on a white body with intense blue colouration on the head and fins of dominant males. A colony species that thrives in groups of one male to several females. Grows slowly but rewards patience with spectacular adult colouration.
Water: 24-26°C, pH 7.8-9.0, hard water; regular large water changes critical. Tank: 500L+ minimum; open sandy floor with large flat rocks and caves. Feeding: Carnivore pellets, frozen lance fish, krill; feed generously 2-3 times weekly. Behaviour: Colony hierarchy with one dominant male; generally peaceful; slow and deliberate. Compatibility: Cyathopharynx furcifer, Xenotilapia species, Ophthalmotilapia ventralis.
