Apistogramma sp. Geisler is an undescribed form that has circulated in the aquarium trade under the name of its collector. It is characterised by prominent lateral spotting and rich finnage coloration in males, particularly the dorsal and caudal fins. Soft, slightly acidic water is recommended for best colour expression and breeding success.
Water: 24-29°C, pH 5.0-6.8, soft (GH 2-8). Tank: 60L minimum, sand substrate, caves, driftwood, and planting. Feeding: omnivore — live/frozen microfoods preferred; quality cichlid pellets accepted. Behaviour: territorial during breeding; harem setup (1M:2-3F) recommended. Compatibility: peaceful community with small tetras and Corydoras.
