About
The giant plakat is a premium combination breed, pairing the compact, powerful plakat body shape with the oversized physique of the giant strain. The result is an exceptionally robust, active fish that can reach 12–14cm with short fins. These fish are incredibly vigorous and require ample space to thrive.
Care Guide
Water: 26-30°C, pH 6.0-7.5, soft to medium hardness — frequent water changes support their large bioload. Tank: minimum 40L with a tight lid; giant plakats are powerful jumpers. Feeding: carnivore — large betta pellets, bloodworm, earthworms; feed twice daily. Behaviour: extremely aggressive males — never house two males together under any circumstances. Compatibility: best housed with robust, larger peaceful fish; small fish may be intimidated.
