Zoramia leptacantha
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Glassy Sweeper Cardinalfish (Zoramia leptacantha) is a captivating nano reef fish with a nearly transparent body shot through with fine iridescent blue and silver highlights, giving it an almost ghostly, otherworldly appearance when a school catches the light in a well-lit reef aquarium. In the wild it congregates in large schools beneath coral ledges and around branching corals, creating shimmering, constantly moving clouds of fish that are one of the most beautiful sights on tropical reefs. In the aquarium it thrives when kept in groups of five or more, displaying natural schooling behavior and continuously active movement that brings life and energy to any reef display. Completely peaceful and reef-safe.
Keep in groups of at least 5 — lone individuals or pairs may become withdrawn and stop feeding. Feed twice daily with small frozen foods such as mysis, cyclopeeze, copepods, or marine flake. Provide live rock for shelter and resting during dark periods. Peaceful with all reef fish, corals, and invertebrates. A secure lid is advised as this active species can jump from small openings.
