Caridina cantonensis var. 'Golden King Kong'
Also known as: Golden King Kong Shrimp, Gold KK Shrimp
Origin: Selectively bred; base species from Southern China
The Golden King Kong is a rare and visually spectacular Taiwan Bee Caridina morph expressing full-body golden-yellow coloration — one of the brightest and most eye-catching hues achievable in the Taiwan Bee gene pool. A true standout in planted aquariums, particularly when displayed against green plant growth and dark substrates where the golden color contrasts maximally. Like all Taiwan Bee shrimp, Golden King Kongs demand pristine soft, acidic, low-TDS water with an active buffering substrate and RO base water. Their rarity and striking appearance make them highly coveted by serious Caridina collectors worldwide.
Water: pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 80–120 ppm, temperature 20–23°C; strict RO water with Caridina GH+ mineral and active substrate. Tank: 30–60 litres dedicated Caridina tank; dense moss; sponge filtration. Feeding: Premium shrimp pellets, biofilm, algae, Indian almond leaves. Breeding: Breed with other King Kong variants; select deepest-gold offspring as breeding stock. Compatibility: Species-only; no Neocaridina or fish.
