Goniopora sp. (Green Flowerpot Coral)

Green Goniopora species are generally regarded as slightly more forgiving than their red counterparts and make an excellent choice for hobbyists looking to attempt their first Flowerpot Coral. Under blue-dominant reef lighting the green polyps glow with vivid fluorescence, creating a mesmerising living bouquet effect. Regular supplemental feeding is essential for long-term success.

Medium PAR (100–200). Gentle to moderate indirect flow. Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 400–450 ppm, temp 24–27°C. Target feed with Reef Roids, live rotifers, or fine zooplankton 3× weekly. Mature systems with established plankton populations (refugiums helpful) significantly improve long-term survival. More achievable than red forms for intermediate reefers.
