Corydoras gossei
Also known as: Gosse's Cory
Origin: South America (Bolivia — Rio Mamore basin)
Corydoras gossei is a relatively uncommon species from the Rio Mamore drainage in Bolivia. Its warm golden colouration with scattered dark markings and orange fin highlights makes it one of the more attractively coloured corydoras available. It prefers stable water conditions and is best suited to the intermediate keeper who can provide a well-maintained, planted aquarium.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 2–12). Tank: 60 L minimum; fine sand substrate; plants and driftwood for shelter. Feeding: Sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, daphnia, and Artemia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooler; keep 6+ individuals; diurnal and active. Compatibility: Excellent community fish with tetras, small rasboras, and peaceful cichlids.
