Neocaridina davidi var. 'Green Jade'
Also known as: Green Jade Shrimp, Jade Neocaridina
Origin: Selectively bred; base species from Taiwan and China
The Green Jade Shrimp is a selectively bred Neocaridina davidi color morph producing uniform jade-green body coloration — one of the few genuinely green freshwater shrimp available to hobbyists. Their vivid green hue creates a striking visual contrast against red or dark aquarium substrates and pairs beautifully with terracotta-colored hardscape and lush planted backgrounds. Retaining the hardy, adaptable nature of all Neocaridina davidi morphs, Green Jade shrimp breed readily in standard tap water without complex parameter management. Their unusual color fills a unique niche in multi-morph Neocaridina collections and planted nano aquariums seeking something beyond the typical red or blue palette.
Water: pH 6.5–8.0, TDS 150–400 ppm, temperature 18–28°C; standard tap water acceptable. Tank: 20+ litres; dark or red-toned substrate; planted; sponge or HOB filtration. Feeding: Biofilm, algae, blanched greens, standard Neocaridina shrimp pellets. Breeding: Prolific; select deepest green specimens to maintain morph intensity. Compatibility: Peaceful; community-safe with small, non-predatory fish.
