Neocaridina davidi 'Green Jade'
Origin: Taiwan (captive-bred)
The Green Jade Shrimp is one of the most desirable Neocaridina color forms available in the hobby, displaying a beautiful translucent green to deep jade coloration. Higher-grade specimens ('High Grade' or 'Extreme') show a deeper, more saturated green hue with minimal patterning across the entire body. Despite its exotic appearance, it shares the legendary hardiness of all Neocaridina davidi color varieties and reproduces prolifically in stable freshwater setups. An eye-catching addition to planted nano tanks and shrimp-dedicated aquariums, where its vivid green coloration contrasts beautifully with red or orange Java moss and dark substrate.
Maintain in a planted aquarium of at least 10 liters with stable water parameters and established biological filtration. Target pH 6.8–7.5, GH 6–14, KH 2–8, temperature 18–26°C. Feed lightly with specialized shrimp foods, spirulina wafers, and blanched vegetables. Avoid copper-based medications; filter with a sponge or mesh intake guard to protect juveniles. Allow the colony to establish naturally — females carry eggs for approximately 3–4 weeks before hatching.
