Sinularia sp. (green aquacultured morph)
Origin: Indo-Pacific (aquacultured)
This vivid aquacultured green Sinularia sp. is a standout soft coral in any reef, producing dense, compact, finger-like branches in a striking fluorescent green that intensifies dramatically under blue LED and actinic lighting. Unlike some slow-growing collector corals, green Sinularia is vigorous and fast-growing under moderate lighting and flow, making it one of the most rewarding soft corals for beginners to reef keeping. It is an excellent fragging coral — offset branches readily separate and can be affixed to frag plugs or rock with gel glue, creating new colonies for trading or expansion. Its compact, bushy growth form suits mid-tank placement as a specimen or in groups. Like all Sinularia, it releases allelopathic compounds into the water column; activated carbon use and good water flow management are recommended in mixed-coral systems.
Position in moderate lighting and moderate to strong, direct water flow. Use activated carbon in filtration to manage allelopathic compounds and protect neighboring stony corals. Allow at least 10 cm clearance from other coral species. Fragging is simple: cut a side branch with clean scissors or a blade, allow the wound to heal for 24 hours, then attach to a frag plug with reef-safe gel. Maintain standard reef chemistry. Tolerant of some light and flow variability.
