Halfmoon Betta 'Black Dragon'

The Black Dragon Halfmoon Betta is an imposing fish with a body covered in dark metallic dragon-scale plating and a sweeping 180-degree halfmoon tail in deep black with subtle iridescent highlights that shift with the viewing angle. The dramatic contrast between the matte black body scales and the iridescent sheen creates a mysterious, powerful visual impression. A highly popular and distinctive strain within the serious betta collector community, requiring its own well-maintained aquarium.

House singly in a dedicated aquarium of at least 15 L. Males are aggressive toward each other and must never be housed together. Maintain temperature 24–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard clean water. Feed high-protein carnivore foods: frozen bloodworm, Artemia, Daphnia, and quality betta pellets. Perform regular partial water changes (25–30% weekly). Ensure a tight-fitting lid as betta splendens are notorious jumpers.
