This cobalt blue Procambarus clarkii morph, popularised by Hammer's Aquatics, features an exceptionally deep, saturated cobalt-blue colouration across every part of its body. It is among the most coveted ornamental crayfish in the hobby, combining the hardiness and size of P. clarkii with truly remarkable colour intensity. Best displayed as a solo centrepiece in a dedicated large aquarium.
Water: 18–27°C, pH 7.0–8.0; stable, moderately hard water; excellent filtration essential for large bioload. Tank: Minimum 100L with multiple cave hides, PVC pipes, and a very secure lid. Feeding: High-quality sinking pellets, blanched greens, frozen bloodworm; colour-enhancing carotenoid-rich foods recommended. Behaviour: Large, bold, and territorial; highly predatory — will hunt any slow or sleeping tankmate. Compatibility: Best kept alone; absolutely not safe with fish, shrimp, or other invertebrates.
