Corydoras pulcher
Also known as: Handsome Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras pulcher originates from the Rio Purus drainage in Brazil and stands out with a broad black stripe running along the midline of its creamy body. Its rarity in the hobby and distinctive colouration make it highly desirable to collectors. It requires good water quality and soft, slightly acidic conditions for best health.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; requires consistent water quality. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, dim lighting, plants and driftwood. Feeding: Sinking wafers, quality pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ essential. Compatibility: Best with peaceful, similarly sized South American species.
