About
Helostoma temminckii (Kissing Gourami) is famous for its habit of pressing lips against other fish and tank surfaces. The pink/gold farm-bred form is widely available. Grown large — mainly an algae and plankton grazer.
Care Guide
pH 6.5–8.0, temp 24–28°C. Hardy and adaptable. Requires large tank as it grows to 25cm. Feed algae wafers, spirulina flakes, and plant matter. The 'kissing' is a dominance display, not affection.
