Hemigrammus bleheri
Origin: Rio Negro, Brazil
Hemigrammus bleheri, the true Rummy-Nose Tetra, is the most tightly schooling of all tetras. The vivid red head and black-and-white banded tail are iconic in planted aquariums. Schools move as a single unit — breathtaking in a large group.
School of 15+. Soft, warm, acidic water. Temperature 24–28°C, pH 6.0–7.0. Feed flakes, micro-pellets, frozen Artemia. Sensitive to ammonia spikes — good water quality indicator.
