Heterandria formosa
Origin: Southeastern USA (South Carolina to Florida)
Heterandria formosa, the Least Killifish or Mosquito Fish, is one of the world's smallest vertebrates and one of the few livebearers native to the USA. Females reach only 3.5 cm; males just 2 cm. Despite the common name, it is not a killifish but a livebearer. Perfect for nano planted tanks and shrimp setups. Pack of 10.
Suitable for tanks as small as 15 L. Excellent with dwarf shrimp; too small to predate adult shrimp. Feed micro foods: baby brine shrimp, micro worms, nano flake. Prefer well-planted setups with Java moss for fry refuge. Very peaceful — do not keep with large or boisterous fish.
