Cyprinus rubrofuscus (domesticated koi)
Origin: Captive bred
Hi Ogon is a metallic single-colour koi of the Ogon variety, displaying a deep, intense orange-red body that shimmers brilliantly in sunlight with the characteristic Ogon metallic lustre. The uniform, unblemished red colouration and high-gloss metallic sheen make Hi Ogon an eye-catching specimen and a popular choice for Belgian and Dutch koi enthusiasts who appreciate the clean elegance of a single-colour fish. Fully cold-hardy and easy to maintain.
House in a well-filtered pond of at least 1,000 L with good water clarity. Maintain pH 7.0–8.5, temperature 5–25°C; cold-hardy through Northern European winters. Feed quality koi pellets or sticks seasonally; reduce feeding at low temperatures. Compatible with all other koi varieties. The metallic colouration benefits from quality colour-enhancing diet and good UV-filtered water clarity.
