High Body Red Turquoise Discus

This show-grade version of the classic Red Turquoise discus has been selectively bred over multiple generations for an exceptionally deep, rounded body profile — a key criterion in European discus competition judging — alongside the already vivid electric-blue striping and rich red body base of the standard strain. Body conformation is evaluated alongside colour intensity in Belgian and Dutch discus competitions, and this strain consistently excels in both categories. Maintain warm, soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.0, GH 1–8, KH 0–4) at 28–31°C. Perform frequent partial water changes (25–30% every 2–3 days) to maintain pristine conditions essential for show-quality fish. Feed high-quality discus-specific foods: frozen bloodworm, beef heart, and high-protein discus pellets. Keep in groups of 6 or more. Provide tall plants and driftwood for natural behavior.
